The goal of this class is to raise our “Shampoo IQ”. The science-based knowledge related to pet shampoos has evolved beyond that of the 1990’s, but this factual data has not been made accessible to groomers. 

Our information will help you be able to choose products based on what is in them, rather than just trusting the marketing info, i.e. sales pitch.  

We will review the nature of shampoo surfactants and learn The Shampoo Ladder, a new way of recognizing shampoos beyond whether they are sulfates or sulfate-free.  

Have you learned that shampoos and conditioners don’t mix? We will discuss the science behind conditioning shampoos, which mix these opposing types of surfactants.
